Make Your Home Appear Classy and Exotic with Parquet Floor Tiles

Parquetry inlay skill is popularly used to make furniture and decorative items in India and the Middle East, which follows a long tradition of making exotic parquet floors and artwork. Originally, parquet floors looked like a ‘wooden carpet,’ comprising small wood blocks. This carpet looked classy but proved to be very expensive. Additionally, it was made of a non-durable material, which when exposed to moisture, would bulge and fracture. However, the parquet floor tiles of recent times are made of more durable materials, including laminates, hardwood and plywood. Also, application of some new techniques has made these floors resistant to water, scratches and exposure to direct sunlight.

Parquet Floor Tiles: Kinds of Material
Parquet floor tiles are made of wood pieces, fitted together to form a mosaic. This type of flooring can be made from various kinds of wood, with varying grains, in order to create a unique, eye-catching pattern. Parquet floors are made of three kinds of materials:

Solid wood parquet – The term itself refers to the fact that it is completely made with a chosen wood type. This kind of flooring is available in two forms:
  • As a finished product, along with varnish or oil.
  • As an unfinished product, that can be shaded to match the home décor.

Layered parquet – This can be made of double, triple or multi-layered wood, one layer glued onto the other at 90 degrees to the previous layer. A wood piece of thickness 3-8mm forms the uppermost layer. This flooring too is available as a finished or unfinished product.

Synthetic parquet – Also called laminate parquet, this flooring is like engineered flooring. It consists of a number of layers:
  • The upper layer is a tough plastic material, which protects the second layer (laminate).
  • Microfilm layer, the second layer, is an imitation of a particular type of wood. It may be cherry, oak or elm.
  • Hard Density Fiberboard or HDF layer, which is protected by the HDF.

Parquet Floor Tiles: Advantages
When compared to other kinds of flooring, parquet floor tiles are a better flooring option because they are:
  • More pleasant to the feet when compared to tiles, which allows one to move about the house barefoot, a major advantage to households with children.
  • Easy to clean as well as hygienic. Parquet does not collect dust, unlike other floorings where dust tends to gather in the gaps.
  • Energy saving and helps to maintain the desired room temperature because wood is an insulator.

Installing parquet flooring is an easy way of upgrading your property. Moreover, parquet floors prove to be durable and environment-friendly. To purchase the best quality parquet flooring material at highly discounted rates, visit www.360flooring.com.
